About Brett Parker

  • Biography

Living in Worcestershire most of my life, I can't help but be inspired by this diverse and beautiful landscape.

Since primary school I had in interest in art, and was told I had a natural ability. I didn’t realise what they meant at the time, I just knew I loved to paint and draw! I did this from imagination and the inspiration of being outside, watching the kingfishers bright colours zooming up and down the river Severn, and the boats cutting through the water.

Now I am an adult, I am doing the same, painting from imagination and local influences and sometimes on location.

I studied at Worcester School of Art followed by Hereford Art College. I have been a freelance illustrator, college lecturer, mural artist, carried out demonstrations at art clubs and sign painted.

Currently, I do portraits (from life and photos) and landscapes, using oil, acrylic, pencil, charcoal and watercolour. Additionally to this, I enjoy wood carving and fingerstyle acoustic guitar.

I like the outdoors; bushcraft, canoeing, and walking in the woods with my dogs. I love camping in wild places and seeing nature at it's best.
