About Ben Hughes

  • Biography

I am a self taught landscape and portrait artist. Predominantly painting in oils, I have exhibited widely across the south of England and I am a member of the Bath Society of Artists. My work falls into two broad categories, both in subject and stylistically:

Landscapes - more traditional in style and execution these are usually oil on board.

Portraits and still life - contrasting a graphical contemporary style against realist elements to create colourful striking paintings, these are usually oil on canvas.
