About Belinda Nadwie

  • Biography
My name is Belinda Nadwie and I am an Australian artist residing in New South Wales. My abstract oil paintings explore emotional, psychological, and spiritual dimensions. My work captures fleeting moments of inspiration, translating them into vibrant, intuitive compositions. Drawing from the Australian landscape, I invite viewers to immerse themselves in a spectrum of moods, from serene indigo and teal to exuberant Persian pink and saffron. I find inspiration in the interplay of light and shadow, nature, and the emotional depth of human experience. The Australian landscape, with its vast skies and shifting light, serves as a constant muse. Although I am partial to also be heavily influenced by my favourite artist Claude Monet and have created many artworks over the years that have been inspired by his work. My creative process is intuitive and spontaneous. I approach each canvas without preconception, allowing emotion to guide my brushstrokes. This results in works that feel like a painterly stream of consciousness, capturing the essence of a moment. Using oil paint, charcoal, spray paint, and oil crayons, I build layers of colour and texture, creating depth and movement. While I have always been drawn to art, my professional career began much later in life, driven by a desire to express my inner world. I officially started my business in 2016 after having three children. I believe it’s never too late to do what you love. My formal art training, though not extensively documented, honed my technical skills, but it is my intuitive approach that defines my art. My work spans intimate smaller pieces to expansive canvases, with larger works offering an immersive experience. The scale depends on the mood and inspiration behind each piece, with larger works enabling bold gestures and complex compositions. I also understand that not everyone can afford large pieces of art but want to own a piece of my work all the same, so I do offer small artworks. While my career is still evolving, my work has begun to garner attention and has been showcased on television shows in Australia: The Block and Selling Houses Australia. I have participated in exhibitions and collaborated with galleries, focusing on creating art that resonates personally with viewers. I’ve also been fortunate enough to be sponsored by a framing company here in Australia to attend art fairs. My decision to showcase my art on platforms like Artfinder stems from a desire to reach a global audience and connect with art lovers worldwide.
