About Barbara Hornstra

Animals, nature, wildlife, and history all inspire and influence my work. Painting helps us see the world in a different way, noticing distinctions that previously we might have overlooked. My goal is to share with the viewer my attraction to and connection with the subject.

Currently living in northern New Jersey, I work primarily in oil and watercolor, with color and texture being especially important in my paintings. My artistic influences include classical painting to impressionism, historical and contemporary. I exhibit and sell artwork at a variety of venues and can paint your favorite subject on commission.
