About Ashley Baldwin-Smith

  • Biography
I have created art since my first memories and I am driven to continue doing so. I predominantly paint landscapes, both naturalistic and abstracted and many things inspire me; be it the different light and how quickly the mood can change or how quickly landscapes change or even disappear. I love to work plein air where it is a race to capture the moment but equally, I often work from my studio using sketches and studies as reference.

For a number of years, I mostly created sculpture and mixed media; created from found objects, which were sold and exhibited all over the UK. Throughout this period, I continued to paint and gradually that has taken over the sculpture: So much so, I decided a build a dedicated painting studio in my garden. The studio also houses my music collection which I love to paint to and a log burner that is a must in the depths of winter.

As well as the paintings for sale here, I also undertake painting commissions so please feel free to contact me.

All paintings are produced using artist grade oil paint on stretched canvas, canvas board and panels (handmade 4x primed and cradled birch plywood panels).

My work will be carefully packaged and I strive to provide excellent customer service along with fast delivery.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask by contacting me.
Thank you for taking the time to look around in my shop, I really appreciate it

These have now been transported online, in response to the current global crisis. The show must go on.
