    Event: Watercolor art exhibition "Emotions"

    Dates: 7 May 2022 - 10 Jul 2022

Venue: Gallery "Autoportretas", Pilies g. 12, Vilnius, Lithuania

For the title of this exhibition “Emotions” I am grateful to my art lovers, fans and, no doubt, critics. Very often when looking at my watercolor artwork, whether it be a portrait or flowers, nature or just a simple pear, they talk about what emotions the work evokes in them. I am always fascinated when the same piece of art brings different emotions. My creative path, from the beginning of the idea to the time the work finds itself in frames, is long and also full of all kinds of emotions.
Since 2016, when I started painting with watercolor, I have been very happy to share my artwork in virtual space. The time has come when we even share our emotions virtually. While I am immensely grateful to the world of technology and the opportunities it offers, for me, face-to-face communication with people and possibility to share my art with them, to give people a living emotion and the opportunity to share it with others, brings me the completeness to my creative process.

    Event: Watercolor art

    Dates: 11 Mar 2017 - 1 Apr 2019

    Venue: Gallery Skizze, Vilnius, Lithuania

First personal solo exhibition of watercolor art

Biography

I am a self-taught furniture and watercolour artist from Vilnius, Lithuania. I have never studied art. I obtained my technician qualification from Vilnius College of Technologies and Design in 1986.

For the past 30 years, my passion has been furniture art. I only recently discovered Watercolor art in 2016.

I loved painting when I was a child. I remember myself immersing into the beauty that surrounded me and painted it onto canvas or paper. I used different mediums – oils, pencils, ink. This was a childhood hobby and only now, it became my obsession. Watercolor was not a medium I felt comfortable using. I felt it was too unpredictable and I wasn’t ready to face the challenges it would bring.

Life is a funny old thing. I do believe things happen for a reason! Certain events happened in my life and I stopped and listened to my intuition. This is when I discovered watercolor, which I felt so challenged by in the past.

I decided to undertake these challenges, face my fears head on and explore the endless possibilities whilst at the same time, learning how to master this medium. Watercolor has very little room for errors but it also has no boundaries for lightness and self-expression!

Since discovering watercolor and falling in love with this medium, I believe this is the beginning of my new life’s path filled with passion and purpose. I have a burning desire to learn and experiment. I am so blessed to walk the path where perfection doesn’t exist ….
