Biography
Artyom Basenci, born on January 7, 1985, in Vanadzor, Armenia, is an accomplished artist and educator known for his work in fine arts and decorative design. He graduated from Vanadzor School No. 1 in 2002 and continued his studies at the Department of Fine Arts at VSPI, from which he graduated in 2007. His passion for art and education led him to begin teaching in 2009 at the college’s beauty department, where he later served as department head from 2010 to 2016 while also continuing to lecture.
From 2012 to 2017, Basenci expanded his artistic experience by working as a decorative artist at the Hovhannes Abelyan State Drama Theater, where his talents contributed to the visual richness of theatrical productions. His commitment to fine arts extends to his active participation in exhibitions. Since 2004, he has exhibited extensively, including a solo exhibition at the National Art Museum (NAM) in Yerevan in 2007 and group shows such as the Exhibition of Young Artists at NPAK in the same year. Other notable exhibitions include his participation in the Alternative Festival (2008), solo exhibitions at the Narekatsi Church in Vanadzor (2009) and in Rostov (2014), and the Armenian Monologues exhibition by the Tovmasyan Foundation in Kaluga, Russia (2013).
Basenci’s work is recognized for its depth and attention to cultural themes, often reflecting a unique perspective on Armenian identity. His exhibitions and ongoing contributions to both the local art scene in Vanadzor and internationally have cemented his role as an influential Armenian artist and educator.
