Arturas Slapsys was born in 1962 in Kaunas city, Lithuania. He started painting at a very young age. His passion for art became a permanent interest.
Since 1996 his work has touched many people in every corner of the world and is in the private and institutional collections through Ukraine, Lithuania, Canada, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Iceland, Australia, and the United States, where he lived for 15 years.
Arturas has been taking part in Lithuanian postage stamp design competitions since 2010 and has been awarded multiple prizes. As a result, the Lithuanian Post issued 10 postage stamps designed by Arturas into circulation from 2010 to 2023.
The Exploration Museum in Iceland acquired sixteen of his portraits of famous Vikings for its permanent collection.
Slapsys' work has been exhibited in many solo and group shows in the United States, Ukraine, Iceland, and Lithuania. He has received several awards for his creativity from many prominent agencies.
From 2010 to the end of 2011 — member of the Chicago Artists Association.
Since 2012 — member of the Union of People's Artists of Lithuania.
In 2014, he was awarded the title of Lithuanian Art Creator.
In 2015, Artūras was awarded the "Krystal of Kindness" for preserving historical memory and supporting the people of Ukraine.
The artwork of Arturas Slapsys was used as illustrations in historical magazines and books in Lithuania, the US, Latvia, and England.
