About Artur Soletskyi

  • Biography

Artur Soletskyi is an artist and researcher of space and human interaction with art. He works at the intersection of various media, combining installation, video art, sculpture, and painting. His works are not just images but environments that compel the viewer to engage with art, to feel it both physically and emotionally.

Born in 1996 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. From 2011 to 2013, he studied at the T.G. Shevchenko State Art Secondary School in Kyiv. From 2013 to 2019, he studied at the Department of Monumental Painting at the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA). Since 2019, he has been a postgraduate student at LNAA, and since 2020, he has been a lecturer at the Department of Art Glass at LNAA.

The main theme of his work is the study of human interaction with space, the influence of artistic environments on the viewer, and the psychology of the masses. In his projects, he does not merely depict crowds but creates an environment that transforms the viewer’s perception, evoking a sense of pressure or immersion in a collective experience. His artistic approach is characterized by minimalism, interaction with space, the symbolism of the human body and its deformation as a means of conveying emotional states, the contrast between stillness and dynamism, and an exploration of how mass processes influence individual perception.

He has participated in group and solo exhibitions, plein airs, residencies, and festivals in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the USA. His works are held in private collections in Poland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, China, Japan, and the UAE.

In addition to his personal artistic practice, he actively works as a curator of exhibition projects. Among the exhibitions he has curated are “Baltic Glass”, held at the Museum of Glass in Lviv, “Baltic Glass: A Dialogue of Wind and Rain”, presented at the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art in Kyiv, “World Art Glass in Ukraine: 1989–2019”, ”#glassUA” at the LNAA Gallery, “E-Glass: Retrospective”, which showcased works by Polish, Czech, Slovak, and American glass artists at the PM Gallery, as well as an exhibition of works by Yan Zorichak (Slovakia/France) at the Museum of Glass in Lviv.

He is the author of scientific publications in Ukrainian professional journals and a participant in international and national scientific conferences. His approach to art is based on the belief that form is not just a visual object but an active element of space that influences the viewer. His works evoke emotions, encourage reflection, and seek a balance between physical and emotional experience.
