About Anna Silabrama

  • Biography
For me, art is an urgent need, it helps me to empathize with the world. It accompanies me throughout life, from early childhood. In Art I see a way to express myself, or rather, to find Me through painting, it is very intimate and very personal feeling. Paints, brushes, canvases and pencils always surrounded me since early childhood. I find inspiration in color. Through color I can express the beauty of our world. One could see variety of flowers on my canvases. I have graduated from Art College and than I've got my Master of Arts at Latvian Art Academy.

    Event: "Reflections of the Emptiness"

    Dates: 4 May 2023 - 3 Jun 2023

Venue: M Art Gallery, Riga, Latvia

From May 4 to June 3, the artist Anna Silabram's solo exhibition entitled "Reflections of the Emptiness" will be on view at the ART RC Gallery, which is located on the first floor of Riga Plaza.
Large-format abstract paintings created in the last three years will be exhibited at the exhibition. In this series, the artist's fascination with Eastern philosophy, especially with the Buddhist idea of the impermanence of all tidy phenomena, the illusory nature of the world and emptiness, can be felt. The author, in an unassuming manner, invites to a dialogue about topics that are important to her, hints at what is reflected in the paintings, allowing the viewer to find their own meaning. Anna Silabrama's visual language is characterized by airiness, multi-layering, the use of textures and gold, as well as a delicate color range with carefully thought-out color accents. The unifying element is the love for the color blue, which appears in almost every painting.
