Biography
Angie Wright is a contemporary Portuguese painter renowned for her dynamic floral landscapes that embody the vibrant “Dopamine Decor” philosophy. Rooted in the belief that bold color can spark joy, elevate energy, and inspire happiness, Angie’s work reimagines how art can transform spaces and uplift the soul. Her vibrant palette and expressive compositions fill environments with visual excitement, bringing warmth and positivity to everyday life.
Over the past decade, she has exhibited her art regularly at prestigious venues, including The Ferens Gallery in Hull, United Kingdom (2010), The Swiss Art Expo in Zurich, Switzerland (2021), Life in Colors in Vienna, Austria (2022), and NYC Art Expo, Manhattan, USA (2023). Additionally, she has been one of the top ten sellers at the renowned Paris Gallery, Singulart.
Her work has been featured in various media and broadcasting platforms, such as "Artists and Illustrators Magazine" (June 2017), "Tomorrow Magazine" (May 2023), and "Snapshot" (May 2024). Her work was selected by designer Stephanie Williams for use by the BBC in 2018. Angie’s artworks are held in private collections across over 25 countries worldwide.
Magazine Editor, Author and Artist Alyson Sheldrake wrote about Angie’s work:
“You can almost smell the intoxicating scent of the flowers and feel a warm breeze gently caress your face as you gaze at one of Angie’s delightful paintings. Bold, bright brushstrokes sweep across the canvas to create breath-taking and mesmerising images that are full of joy and vitality. Experience the wonders of nature from inside the comfort of your home or office with one of her original and captivating paintings”.
Angie’s recent work explores the juxtaposition of realism and expressionism, creating paintings where viewers feel immersed in a sea of flowers. While these works are grounded in realism, they transcend mere depiction or observation, delving into the emotions inspired by the artist's quest to find extraordinary beauty in the ordinary and reflect upon how this mirrors life.
Drawing inspiration from the inherent beauty and resilience of nature, Angie conveys themes of hope, renewal, love, and strength through her floral landscapes. Her art invites viewers to look deeply and experience the joy and beauty of the world around them.
