About Andrew Mortimer

I've always been driven to create in an observational way and I've been painting and drawing to commission my entire life; but have only recently had the space to develop my work in a different, more subjective and symbolic direction. Most recently I've been working in charcoal and gold leaf, combining gathered elements to create images with more of a narrative.
The addition of gold or silver leaf enhances and elevates the image, it changes with the ambient light creating more of an interaction.
I've only been working in this way since March 23 and have multiple series and painted versions planned, which I will upload once available.
I'm also offering very limited numbers of gilded prints, Giclee prints embellished with 24k gold leaf to mirror the original.
