About Andrew Moran
Biography
When I studied at Art school I became interested in a number of Artists, including Max Beckmann, Otto Dix, Stanley Spencer and George Grosz. I have always worked in a figurative manner in terms of my portrayal of elements of the visible world.
A number of themes run throughout my work which include people engaged in a variety of activities and different places and landscapes I have visited and experienced where I have witnessed an ephemeral moment, either in terms of its visual interest or as a natural event. How a place can be changed, by human labour and endeavour I find fascinating.
In my paintings and drawings, I try to explore and develop my fascination with what I see and observe, then represent and transcribe in terms of the most appropriate medium.
I have exhibited my work in a number of shows over the years and have sold work privately to individuals and collections.
