About Amrita Saraogi

I’m a post-lunch, afternoon printmaker. 

Through my art I seek to better explore the private world of my self, and also the public world I encounter. I keep making new discoveries about my mind and the way it interacts with everything and everyone else, which eventually helps me get to know myself better, and I find that art and the act of creation more specifically, is a most satisfying companion for this journey. This process of self-discovery often happens through both significant and inconspicuous life experiences which provide profound insights; travels and physical journeys and memories of places I visit and spaces I inhabit; a seasonal flower that is so beautiful and just so ideal a representative of perfect nature that I too want to experience the glory of being its creator and create my own personal image of it. All of these end up being frequently visible in my art.
