Biography
I paint because I want to express strong feelings that I cannot express in any other way. A painting begins with a recalled passion such as my love of solitude, my fascination with body language, or my hatred of war. I explore each of them until I finally run out of ideas. The paintings are semi-abstract with a hint of the vision recalled. They are usually in watercolour. I use unusual geometric shapes and vibrant colour but more recently greys have emerged. Truth be told I use whatever works to get the feeling I want.
The two artists who inspire me particularly and make me want to paint better are Edward Hopper and Richard Diebenkorn but my list is long.
