About Aidas Mikelenas

I am Aidas Mikelenas, I was born in Lithuania's city Kaunas in 1967. From childhood I loved to draw. First sold painting was at Kaunas Architect Albert art gallery 1979. School years first more serious exhibition was at handicraft school. After that exhibition I was invited to exhibit my work to a lot of different art school's, also I even exhibited my works in Kaunas theaters. I got a lot of private orders, most of works I sold at Kaunas Architect Albert art gallery and Alfred Šatas art gallery. 1987-1989 I had to go to soviet army. In soviet army I didn't let my hands down and I kept drawing, painting, take artistic photos and I opened my art school for students at the town's cultural Centre.

1991 when I came back from army I got in to Vilnius Art Academy in stained glass specialty. Study years I used to make a lot of various exhibitions with my classmates in academy, personal exhibitions in Justiniškių Vlado, Russian, Polish galleries and Marija and Jurgis Šlapeliai museum.

At same time we created artist group „Light strings“ with which we kept making successful exhibitions all over Lithuania. Two of exhibitions were at Vilnius Vartu (Gateway) gallery, also a lot of exhibitions were at Grigo ratai gallery. A good number of works were sold to private Lithuania's collectors and I get a lot of orders from private persons. Big part of paintings and stained glass works getting sold to foreign customers, once I even sold my painting for Modern Talking group member.
