About AH Image Maker

  • Biography
You can find inspiration in almost everything. I enjoy the challenges of capturing the essence of a person, animal or place. Observing these moments in time and create engaging images from them. I studied Graphic Design at Loughborough Art College. My design aesthetic informs and helps translate my developing visual language. I have a passion for image making that is equally drive by the love of the processes employed to create the final work. The journey very often more valuable and rewarding. All my prints start as an idea that I sketch onto paper before transferring the illustration to the block to be carved by hand. The linocuts can take days to get from concept to the initial printed proof. Continually developing the design as I move from drawing to the cutting stage of the process. I am currently playing with the linocut relief printing process, but I also enjoy letterpress, screenprint and mono print techniques. All of which I will be using to create future print projects. As part of my hands on practice, I give as much thought to the final presentation of the artwork as I do to its creation. This is why all my prints can be bought in solid wooden frames and mounted in a style that best presents the artwork. My hand built frames are delivered ready to hang on your wall.
