Original artwork description:

Painting the delicate blossoms of this orchid against the cool blues which helped to represent the wintry climate in which the plant struggled to grow. Overall it was an incredibly satisfying work to create despite the frustrations of painting such technically difficult blooms in such a cold environment. The solitary placement of the orchid gives the picture subtle emotional undertones.

Oil paint, linseed oil, dammar varnish, MDF, cotton, rabbit skin glue, gesso
