Words and imagination
I was teaching a beautiful and uplifting new student the other day. I created this scene from a watercolour, wet on wet demonstration.
Original watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb. I wet the paper with my sable hair brush and used sporadic washes of yellow ochre mixed with crimson, then mixed Prussian blue into the colours which creates subtle shades applying light washes around the light so it frames it. Then applied the base line and the ethereal trees. The whole process was created on wet paper to achieve the dreamy effect.
