Not many landscape artists seem to paint snow scenes these days- I don't know why, I love to paint snow.
As a child of the Sixties the winters always seemed to be snowy back then and Christmas seemed to last for weeks! It was hard to ride a new bike in a snowdrift but we did it anyway and never seemed to notice the cold!
Snow scenes are all about nostalgia of course- perhaps this is why I paint so many. And people really seem to like them too- so I'm not the only one.
Artistically snow is a tricky thing to paint- it does amazing things to light and you have to really pay attention to catch it's luminosity.
