Original artwork description:

The US government's first real law protecting drinking water started in 1956 with the Clean Water Act. It was amended in 1965 and authorized the EPA to set national standards to protect public drinking water and its sources against naturally occurring or human-made contaminants. Before this time industries dumped raw sewage and industrial waste into freshwater lakes and streams and tainted water wells across the United States, resulting in water-borne diseases such as cholera, polio, dysentery, typhoid, Hep A, etc. The problems resulting from this dumping, both past and present, pose serious threats to humans from Flint, Michigan to Beijing, China, and just about everywhere else. "Welcome to Parasites" brings the message that protecting the security of drinking water is no day at the beach.

This unique work includes the face of a vintage TV giving it a weight of approximately 30 lbs (13 kilos).

Materials used:

MDO, Plexi, Color print, Acrylic, photo transfer, isolation coat, varnish, vintageTV
