Original artwork description:

This challenge was to create something on the theme of "Transport". Having travelled a lot before lock-down for work and pleasure I have photos, videos and sketches to refer to. I love the energy and faith that the tri-shaw riders show. They pile their tri-shaw high and wide with heavy grain and other goods. Cycling off in flip-flops. Into the Delhi traffic with just the ringing of the bell keeping them away from a collision with tuk-tuks, trucks, buses and cars.

I've created a collection "Covid Creativity - Art from Lock-down". The Art Challenge between a group of artists who got to know each other in and around Hereford. Setting challenges for each other, either based on an artistic style, medium or subject. Meeting virtually to share our results.

Image 21.2 x 16 cm (c 8.25 x 6.5") is completed in ink pen and watercolour washes on watercolour paper. The painting is in an ivory mount in a black frame 33 x 27.5 x 2.5 cm (13 x 11").

(C) of the image remains with the artist

Materials used:

ink pen, watercolour
