After 600 years there are storks nesting again in the UK. They have been reintroduced on the Knepp Estate, home of one of the earliest rewilding projects. The print is a study of the “double decker” pair of nests in one of the oak trees on the estate. Visiting them I had the atavistic sensation that they were old friends and companions of humans- they are a beautiful, calm and uplifting presence.
Copper, ferric chloride, black and Prussian blue etching ink
