From a distance it looks like any ordinary antique clock.
I move closer, I can’t hear any sound of ticking?
I realise, that this 1940’s silent elegant structure is no normal clock of its time.
In fact, it is the “Control Centre of Time”.
The centre in charge of triggering recognition of time to our brains, reminding us that time is precious!
I have been studding poetry within fine art, which lends itself nicely to storytelling within my pieces.
I wrote this little poem for this piece and hand engraved it onto the back of the door.
You rushed past yesterday
And didn’t stop by today
Take your time
For the daydreams of tomorrow
Can wait
I removed the inside of the broken clockworks and restored the woodwork frame. I kept the original colour of mahogany as I felt it belonged to its antique style. The handmade little seat is designed from pieces of the clocks workings. I used other watch mechanisms to create the wall scene for the control panel. The little books are notes kept by the controller on keeping records. Stopping time for us to appreciate every moment lived.
