A painting of a memorable impromptu concert by two visiting German musicians, one evening in an old villa/farmhouse near Florence, lit by improvised tungsten lamps which gave the whole scene an orange glow, but which added to the mood. There are three versions of this subject. The largest ( 2m x 1.5m) was lost, presumed stolen in Florence. This is the middle-sized one, and there is a smaller study.
Oil paint on Linen canvas, egg & oil emulsion primer, damar varnish
