Original artwork description:

The paintings in my Synthesis series were a result of continued experimenting with spray paint and building up thin layers overlaid with stencil and pen marks. They are very detailed and precise with contrasting transparency and opacity. My intention is to create an image that has the look, from a distance and close up, of being made by a machine, perhaps printed, yet each mark is by hand and built up carefully. The series started as small works which work well when displayed in a group. However, I decided to create a large version, the most recent work, which is highly detailed yet the colour palette is reduced.

Materials used:

acrylic, spray paint and pen
