This is a portrait of my good friend and fellow artist, Christine Clark. She has supported and encouraged me since we studied together at art college 15 years ago.
I find Christine and her work incredibly inspiring – both so full of beauty and imagination. In this painting I have her gazing out of the canvas, her eyes alive with possibility and verve. The abstract backdrop contains areas of calm juxtaposed with moments of high energy mark-making to echo her resilience and passion.
