Artwork description:

Moroccan architecture is an endless inspiration to me. Arabesque arches, earthy colours mixed with jewel-like accents, and the wonderful ways to capture them in one balanced image. I love paring down architecture to its essential shapes, to render the reality of what you see and cut out the noise to uncomplicated structures and use colour to abstract it even more.
Here in this multi block linocut print I’ve chosen pinks and oranges which are often associated with Morocco, but I will be continuing my experimentation with colour so I have made only one in this colour way.
Please be aware that as I hand print all my work that you will find textural anomalies and slight creasing and embossing of the paper, these are all signs that you are receiving a piece of work made by hand and not a digitally enhanced copy.

Materials used:

Somerset satin 250gsm paper and oil based inks
