This is a painting of an old cinema in bleached out town. It reminds me of a story from one of my favourite authors Ray Bradbury. In the back of my mind I'm recalling The Town Where No One Got Off. In fact this idea was actually taken from a classic film, The Last Picture Show, which I think may have been filmed in black and white. Certainly I took the colour out of the image to make my own interpretation.
All my paintings are about potential stories and in this painting the story emanates from the very building where stories are projected.
