Original artwork description:

I love old neon signs, an outdated technology that invokes a certain emotion that can't be captured by modern means. It really intrigues me to create something out of paint that can glow and replicate a physical object in two dimensional form. From old movie signs to bars and clubs, county fairs, things like this remind me of the days I played in bands and of childhood memories as well. They remind me of exploring, of travel, and of the unknown. I played around with thick paint on this one to mimic the physicality of the sign itself, as if the paint application was a representation of the density of the light.

Oil Paint
