Once upon a time, around 2001 , I painted this awesome garden . It was a regular Friday in spring time, nothing really special. I was so deeply focused on my work that didn't realize that I have a spectator. He stood few meters behind me and was watching my work with serious face. I turned back and he started to apologize for disturbance. "Oh, no, no, it's alright" - I calmed him - " I am used to spectators". He smiled and asked if I'm painting on commission. " Of course I do" - I said. "What is it about ?" He wanted to have a portrait of his father , showed me a photo and asked if it would be possible to manage . He showed me old black & white photo, pretty small in size. The man in the photo had a snow-white curvy beard and wise black eyes. His head was covered with black hat. I liked the face and agreed to draw the portrait. Later the job turned into pleasant friendship. The new friend of me was a great storyteller and his wife - an excellent cook, this combination doubled the pleasure. Oh, my apologies, I was carried away with nice memories, but we are not talking about the portrait!
Being back to the landscape: it was painted in the garden, named after Raoul Wallenberg - a Swedish architect, businessman, diplomat and humanitarian. I was aiming to show the airy blossom of jacaranda trees, the game of light and shadows, different textures: dry wood, juicy greenery, fleshy red blossom. Probably I got the target, because feedback of my colleagues, who are wonderful impressionist artists themselves, were quite flattering .
This is oil painting made on special canvas-alike paper. I sale it without frame and it makes the postage much safer. Good frame will make from this painting a real jem and of course it will be enlarged when mounted and framed. I'm going to send it with EMS post service. The price of shipping is upon on EMS official price-list. It's no any additional fee for packaging and handling of the parcel. Please, don't hesitate to ask about details , I will be glad to answer .
