When they said 'a woman's work is never done' it definitely was the case during the World Wars. However on this small farm, she had great and loyal helpers. Her daughters sowing potato seed into the furrows. Rover chasing off the ravens that try to steal the seed. Galahad the powerful draught horse and the Jacaranda that bloomed to scent the air. The little house that She and husband largely built, stands firm waiting to welcome them in for tea. There is action in this painting, there is also singing and happiness. I loved painting this one.
