Capturing the ephemeral beauty of nature, the floral composition of pink peonies bathes in the radiant light of a sunny day. This oil on canvas work was painted on plein air, allowing me to immerse myself directly in the vibrant atmosphere and render the peonies in their natural setting.

The inspiration for this piece was the sheer beauty of the peonies themselves. Their delicate, layered, and lush petals epitomize nature's splendor in full bloom. Painting outdoors offered me a unique opportunity to depict the flowers and encapsulate the ambiance, the gentle warmth of the sun, and the play of light and shadow on every petal.
I chose the oil medium for its depth, allowing for a richness of color that beautifully complements the peonies.
