In this work, JL Lacroix wished to capture the raw essence of the pelican through a refined symbolism imbued with humor. Passionate about reclaiming objects, in an unquenchable treasure hunt, the artist strikes, crushes, kneads, brushes, reddens and finally assembles the pieces to extend the possibilities of the nothing, the derisory, the useless. For him, it's a civic act to recycle all the metal discarded on sidewalks, in forests or the wild dumps that disfigure our environment. A creative exploration of form and space. An invitation to reflect on perseverance and transformation, bringing a dynamic, playful and funny energy to any living space. For indoor or outdoor installation.
Signed JlL on the right foot. Certificate of authenticity. Dimensions: 52x40x16cm with the base, ready to install.
If set in outdoors, a thin coat of Rustol with a brush is sufficient every 3-4 years to preserve it from rust.
