Original artwork description:

This monotype print is one of two studies of a nude model laying on blankets and cushions. The image is a ghost print of the monotype print exploring form and colour, creating a patterned image of the female form.

The image is inspired in-part by the way in which Egon Schiele would create his paintings of the figure, with the artist sitting high above his models, removing them from the immediate environment around them, creating a flattened style of space, exploring the area of space and colour to create form.

This monotype print/ painting has been re-immersed into the tray of water to gently wash away some of the ink, revealing a more softened image, producing a more pastel image and more subtle print of a nude woman.
