Original artwork description:

I have loved art since I was a child and I am inspired by what I see around me. My works express the beauty and peacefulness of people doing everyday things. At times I will express a moment in time using a current theme and dress. Other times, such as this painting, I strive to bring a historical or cultural scene to remembrance. In this way, I do my part in keeping these aspects of my culture alive. This young boy serves as an example as he sits preparing. He is optimistic, as a "New Day" begins, that he will find success.

I am passionate about exploring color. And the colors in this painting help to express the overall mood. My main medium is acrylic paint. Using acrylic's gives me the affect that I want in my work since it dries fast and I can add layer upon layer quickly. The layers build and become the wonderful colors and also the texture that I am aiming for. I believe that everyone should have original art in their home. When you view my works it is my desire that you will be inspired by the scenes and uplifted by the content.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint on canvas, solid wood frame
