Original artwork description:

Painting of a Red-winged Black bird inspired by a winter freshwater marsh scene of decaying cattails. The male bird has red and yellow distinctive shoulder patches which make it distinctive. The bird is an early migrant and often first to arrive in early spring. I was inspired by their color and behavior. I approached this painting by first doing a drawing of the bird and then completing this oil paint.
The painting is framed in a wood floating frame painting in matte black and ready for hanging.
