Artwork description:

"Man and the Sea" is original print done in technique of dry point. The edition of this original piece is made in only 4 prints, of which 2 are available. Ink color: dark green. Paper color: light beige.
This was the first portrait done by the idea of creating water creatures that will represent ground and water at the same time. The idea and need to combine these two worlds was leading me to new creatures that will be receiving elements of water. On this portrait we see presence of jellyfish that is telling us about adjusting to the see world. Jellyfish is known for extreme ability to adapt, no matter how many changes seas are having today. I associated their strength with the male figure. It is presenting army that is protecting the sea.
Please note that dry point print is original piece of art and it has different meaning than prints made and printed digitally.
Printmaking is traditional fine art technique that is producing multiple originals and all prints made in one edition are numbered and signed by the artist.

Materials used:

Fine art Fabriano paper and etching ink
