Bold and colorful abstract that was done with acrylic and mixed media on heavy craft paper. I wanted a tea stained darker background, so I started playing around with heavy craft paper. This energetic piece was done in shades of blue, pink, violet, yellow with layers of expressive mark making. It is sealed with a satin protective finish and will come in a 11x14 inch white mat for framing. The piece itself is 8x10 inches.
It is signed on the front and back along with the title and date created.
I name my pieces by what occurred while painting the piece and usually with a bit of humor. What moved me, what struggles had to be overcome, my mood, my train of thought, what the piece reminded me of, sometimes a song that was on and the beat moved me or the lyrics influenced me in some way. Some pieces are named clearly with a bit of humor. I never intentionally start out a painting saying “I’m going to do this, or I’m going to do that”. All of my pieces morph into something that is totally surprising and unexpected.
