This small etching captures the idea of a group of people or a tribe on their way to a new adventure or a place of safety. “Off the Mountain” is a playful expression of a journey, leaving and arriving somewhere. It was inspired by countless visits to the Mohave desert county parks, Nevada USA, where I came across ancient rock drawings. The stories told in those petroglyphs contain important information about the people’s lives. For me they are a source of imaginative stories.
With my etchings I hope to inspire the viewer’s own imagination to find their personal narrative in my etchings.
This etching is printed from on single steel plate on acid free paper by me in my studio in Brighton, UK. It measures about 30cm x 23cm with a paper margin all around of about 5cm.
