One of a series of large canvasses celebrating colour and mark this work was inspired by the hedgerows that are so typical of the English countryside in Spring. I walk and cycle with my dog Scout, most days, and always take a sketchbook and paints so that I can stop along the way. There are a couple of weeks when the cow parsley takes over and this is the moment when colour is almost overwhelming. Lime whites, pink blossom and a multitude of greens. I paint expressively and every brush mark counts. This painting is unframed.
