Original artwork description:

Heartspur from the dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, "An unexpected surge of emotion in response to a seemingly innocuous trigger." The most recent in a series of quiet interiors, exploring the liminal, the presence of absence, and silence. As always mystery is at the core. Rather than expressing what might be described as unique, this is an exploration of what is shared. What are the images that we, as humans, find meaningful? What do we describe as personal? Each painting is a conversation to which we all can contribute, for which we all have stories. This series is inspired by The American realists, Edward Hopper in particular.
