Original artwork description:
Oil painting on oil grounds on linen sized to an aluminum composite panel using archival methods. The image is of a Great Blue Heron in spring plummage that was seeking small bait fish by wading in a cypress swamp. These trees were estimated by an arborist I know, to be over 200 years old. I tried to make this painting as much about the scene in the swamp as it was about the wading bird. This work took me over a two month period to complete and I then wait six month to apply varnish to ensure a totally archival work.
