Feather Punk Kid.
Part of "The Skull People" series.
In 2022 I started feeling like I was ready to make some completely new work. I started experimenting with some abstract pieces. I kept wanting to draw skulls for some reason. I drew lots and lots of them. And started to appreciate their form and meaning. For me, it's a symbol, not necessarily of death, but of something very essential in us. Something quite vulnerable and naked. When everything on our body is gone, the skeleton is left.
I liked the idea of the skull people being a spirit people, a people that lives in imagination. Made up of bits in pieces of things that are us. Elemental things.
The style is inspired by street art and graffiti. With street art, the world is our canvas, and everyone walking past is the audience.
