From the serie Color Cloud faces.
As I got fascinated by the ephemeral and the play of light in layered clouds of acrylic colorfields I made a whole series of faces, or features of faces that were made up by blots and dots rather than by line.
Because of the absence of outlines that indicate form in these artworks,
the viewer receives an open invitation to construct the image themselves.
The gestural strokes give an extraordinary liveliness to the otherwise centred composition of this subtle little portrait.

The translucent colorfields remind the public of watercolor,
but I have used the far more durable acrylic paint for these artworks.

Not all of the little portraits of this serie is framed,
but this one is, it has a wooden box-frame.
