The canvases of the series become a portal to a world where the past, present and future converge in a celebration of human Ingenuity and Talent, Progress and the enduring Spirit of Joy.
The name itself speaks volumes... The canvas depicts a European city of the early 20th century in its morning bliss, the bliss of waking up: soft lighting, silhouettes of churches in a lilac haze, the city hall with a tower as a symbol of city power, the quiet waters of the canal with marvelous reflections of ships moored to the pier... A little more and the city will begin to crumble, the first trams will rustle, the first carriages will set off from the stables, its inhabitants will pour into the streets of the city.
