Ponderosa is a close-up of a young woman's head.
Her features are stylized.
We only see 1 of her big eyes. It's sensual and seems that she just looked away from the viewer, as if she was distracted by a thought passing by.

There a quite a few abstract elements in this painting,
that enhance the feeling of this being a surrealist painting.

The skintone is painted a bright orange hue, but as the background is in the same vibrant color range, somehow the eye of the beholder accepts this as a possibility.
Perhaps this is because the features are painted in a quite realistic manner.

Personally, my point of "visual joy" in this painting is there where the curling hair reaches the neck and jawline. There where the strong white outline touches de red curly hair that turns seemingly blue.
The suggestion of depth, the soft change of color and the crisp outline,
just captures me every time I glance a that painting!

This picture is framed in a black "box" type of frame,
that gives this small painting the opportunity to be seen from the sides as well.
As usual, the flanks are painted along with the front.
It's signed on the front and on the back you will find the title,
year of making and a larger signature.
