I live in Worcestershire and love walking on the Malvern Hills in all seasons. The colours and light change dramatically throughout the year, making each visit unique, but difficult to capture! This painting was produced after a day spent sketching and photographing on the hills; the view is looking south towards the Worcestershire Beacon. I have tried to give an impression of the feelings as well as what could be seen; there is a slight sadness to this which I often feel on an autumn day when the world seems to be closing in on its self, going to sleep to wait for the spring. I like to think you can almost feel the breeze on your face as you look into the painting.
