Each spring forest grounds are getting covered with wild anemones. It's our best season for plein air and we never miss.
Every Plein Air is an Adventure. Wanna hear the story ?
The work-day started in pastoral way: quiet, green and sunny. Around the noon we had heard weak ringing that sounded as the distance flock. We did not give it much importance. Even when we have seen sheep, pathing through background our 'our landscape' - one that we were painting, we still didn't get it seriously. The forest is public and one couldn't expect to be there alone. In a while big sheep flock got closer and pathed through the central part of 'our landscape'. We took few photos and continued working. Very soon 3 big dogs visited our camp. They were herding sheep and checked us out as a potential danger / or not for the flock. Two of them left and one staid with us. He sniffed our colors and the rest of equipment and laid down between our stuff - to guard it, I guess. It was a veteran dog and seems he cared not his job, but own comfort. Not 1st time when animals coming to stay with us, we used to it and had nothing against.
The elegiac shepherd stopped quite in distance to smoke and to dream, 'our' dog was sleepy and the sheeps went all around, eating the landscape and melodically ringing. Big and muscular brown ram was leading and managing the flock. When we noticed that two-three dozen sheep, led by the ram, came from behind and they are already at a distance of 2 steps - we got a bit nervous. Our dog wagged his tail 'everything is under control, friends' he said. Okaaay... - we thought and then another troop of sheep cut the road through bushes. Sheep were moving as a stream, sweeping away our backpacks along the way, tubes of paint everything else that we carefully put on the ground when work. Very soon we were surrounded by sheep, they entered between us and between easels and the grass under our feet was definitely more delicious then the grass behind. Dog finally stood up and joined the party. Both, sheep and dog, demonstrated friendly vibes to each other, and we were the only strangers in this fest...
